The Flow Detect notebook
What happens to floors and walls after access?
Understand the boundary between plumbing repair and reinstatement.
Access needs a purpose
We explain why an opening is proposed and what is needed to reach the agreed repair. An existing hatch may help, but concealed work can require a new opening.
Finishes are a separate stage
Painting, plastering, tiling, flooring, paving and other decorative or remedial reinstatement are excluded from the package.
Plan the next trade
Keep the repair record and discuss any remaining moisture or access considerations before arranging finishes. Do not assume a repaired pipe means every surrounding material is ready for decoration.
Put the information into context
This guide explains common investigation principles. Your property, the available access and the actual test findings determine the right next step. It is not a diagnosis of an unseen system.
