What this method contributes
A series of readings can be more useful than a single number. We consider the surface material, the distribution of readings and the rooms or services around it. This creates context for the suspected path of water and helps select further checks.

Readings vary between materials and cannot alone prove that a particular pipe leaks.
A useful result needs the right conditions and context. The method is considered alongside the pipe layout, the symptoms and other findings, rather than treated as a guarantee.
