The Flow Detect notebook
Why test a system in sections?
A useful boundary can make the next investigation more focused.
The whole system can hide the question
A change across an entire installation may not reveal which circuit is affected. Suitable isolation can sometimes separate useful sections.
The arrangement must be suitable
Available valves, pipe condition and system design influence whether a controlled test is appropriate. An assumed boundary is not the same as a proven isolation.
Tracing follows the result
A relevant pressure result can narrow the next checks, but it does not give a location by itself. Access is based on the broader findings.
Put the information into context
This guide explains common investigation principles. Your property, the available access and the actual test findings determine the right next step. It is not a diagnosis of an unseen system.
