The Flow Detect notebook
Keeping a useful record of an intermittent leak
A short timeline can be more helpful than a guess.
Record the conditions
Note the time, the affected place and ordinary activities such as shower use or heating operation. Mention weather when it appears relevant.
Photograph consistently
Pictures from the same position can show how a patch changes. Keep the record factual and avoid recreating a leak in a way that causes more damage.
Share what did not happen
If similar use sometimes produces no sign, that is useful too. The investigator can explain whether further observation or controlled checks are needed.
Put the information into context
This guide explains common investigation principles. Your property, the available access and the actual test findings determine the right next step. It is not a diagnosis of an unseen system.
